概要

　本論は，戦後労働調査資料の復元事業の一環として行われた撮影作業を中心に，デジタル化の意義と可能性を論じる．2010 年代前半に実施された初期の撮影作業の試行錯誤から，デジタルカメラを用いた効率的な撮影体制が確立されるまでの過程を振り返り，復元データの品質向上や撮影作業の効率化に貢献した技術的工夫を紹介する．また，国鉄関連文書やソーシャル・ニーズ調査など，大量資料のデジタル化事例を取り上げ，それぞれの特徴に応じた手法の適用と課題を検討する．本研究は，歴史社会学や博物館学における資料デジタル化の知見を応用し，「ゴミなのか資料なのか」の判断が難しい資料の保存と活用を実現する手法を提案するものである．この提案は，将来的な資料管理の課題と直結するものである．

Abstract

This paper examines the process and significance of digitizing postwar labor survey materials as part of their restoration project. It reviews early efforts in the 2010s to establish an efficient framework using digital cameras, highlighting technical innovations that improved data quality. Case studies include the digitization of national railway documents and social needs surveys, showcasing tailored methods for large-scale archival materials. The study bridges sociological and museological approaches to propose solutions for preserving ambiguous materials, often dismissed as “waste”. By emphasizing practical yet effective techniques, the research addresses challenges in resource management and data integrity. Concluding with insights on knowledge-sharing and the future of data archiving, it underscores the academic importance of reviving historical social survey data for interdisciplinary applications.
