独裁体制における政党・議会・選挙などの公式制度やクライアンテリズムといった非公式制度はどのように形成され、それらはいかなる政治経済的帰結をもたらすのか。多国間データの計量分析と中央アジア諸国での現地調査に基づく比較事例分析をつうじて検討する。

サーベイの採取や質問票への正確な回答を得るのが難しい発展途上国・独裁国家において、いかにして人々の政治認識を把握し、分析することができるのか。こうした国々の実情に即したサーベイ（実験）分析をおこなうことで、新興国の市民の政治意識に光を当てる。
